Grant Making Partners
Over the past four years, SCF’s grant making has evolved from relatively small grants across a broad range of organisations toward larger, multi-annual grants with a more strategically aligned group of Key Partners.
As the scale of funding has increased, so too has the depth of SCF’s relationships, rooted in trust, shared learning, and measurable impact. This evolution reflects a deliberate shift from reactive philanthropy toward a more strategic model of giving.
Several strong partnerships have emerged during this period:
Community Foundation Ireland
Early partnership with Community Foundation Ireland provided critical infrastructure, guidance, and access to networks through a Donor Advised Fund, helping shape SCF’s collaborative and informed approach to giving.
Third-Level Institutions
These Third Level partnerships provide opportunities to further SCF's mission around environment sustainability, community resilience and the wellbeing of young people.
Philanthropic & Strategic Partnerships
Collaboration with like-minded funders has become a cornerstone of SCF’s approach, enabling greater impact through pooled resources, shared expertise, and trust-based funding models. Robust partnerships have been developed through pooled and thematic funds with organisations such as Rethink Ireland, and the Katharine Howard Foundation. These collaborations enable SCF to leverage specialist expertise and established delivery models, enhancing both reach and effectiveness.
Mick Guinee Foundation
In recent years SCF has expanded its partnerships to include joint funding initiatives with the Mick Guinee Foundation.
Looking to the future, SCF aims to build on this momentum by strengthening cross-sector partnerships, supporting innovation, and investing in initiatives with the potential for long-term systemic impact.
